Yes, specifically. Australian tap water in most major cities (Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide) uses chloramine as a disinfectant, a combination of chlorine and ammonia, rather than free chlorine alone. Unlike free chlorine, chloramine does not evaporate from water and does not dissipate in a hot shower. It requires catalytic carbon to remove effectively.
Most water filters designed for the US or European market use regular activated carbon, which is largely inadequate for chloramine. HolyH₂O products are built around Australian water conditions, including chloramine treatment, fluoride, and local heavy metal and microplastic profiles.
Chloramine (monochloramine) is a disinfectant formed when chlorine and ammonia are combined. It’s used in Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, and Adelaide water supplies because it’s more stable than free chlorine and lasts longer in the distribution network.
For shower filters, this matters because chloramine does not evaporate in a hot shower the way free chlorine does, meaning every shower involves full-concentration exposure for several minutes. It also requires catalytic carbon to break down, not standard KDF or regular activated carbon. For people with sensitive or eczema-prone skin, choosing a filter with the right media type makes a real difference.
Most countries (including the US and much of Europe) use free chlorine as a disinfectant, which standard activated carbon removes effectively. Australian cities predominantly use chloramine, which requires catalytic carbon to remove. A US-spec filter with standard carbon will reduce taste and odour but leave chloramine largely intact.
HolyH₂O products are designed and tested around what’s actually in Australian tap water, not generic global specs.
The Trinity Water Filter is a three-stage gravity-fed benchtop drinking water filter. No plumbing, no power, no professional installation required, suitable for renters and homeowners alike. It removes 99.99% of chlorine, heavy metals, industrial chemicals, and 180+ other contaminants including fluoride, chloramine, lead, mercury, arsenic, microplastics, and sediment. Independently tested to NSF/ANSI Standards 42, 53, and 401.
Available in three sizes:
| Size | Dimensions (L × W × H) |
|---|---|
| 14 Litres | 29 × 29 × 60 cm |
| 16 Litres | 32 × 32 × 60 cm |
| 22 Litres | 32 × 30 × 64 cm |
Made from food-grade, impact-resistant BPA/BPS-free material. No power required.
Yes. The KDF cartridge (Stage 2) removes fluoride through its redox exchange process. The Trinity is tested to NSF Standard 53, which covers health-effect contaminants including fluoride. Australian tap water is fluoridated at approximately 0.6–1.1 mg/L in most capital cities.
No. The Trinity’s final stage uses mineral stones that reintroduce trace minerals after filtration, so you get clean water that still tastes like water, not stripped-flat water. That’s a key difference from reverse osmosis systems, which remove everything, including the beneficial minerals.
Standard jug filters use a small, basic activated carbon cartridge that mainly improves taste and odour. The Trinity is a three-stage system with far greater capacity that also addresses fluoride, chloramine, heavy metals, and microplastics.
It also holds 14 to 22 litres of filtered water ready to go, so there’s no refilling a small jug five times a day or giving up fridge space.
Yes. The Trinity sits on your benchtop with no plumbing, no drilling, and no power. Nothing is attached to the property, so there’s nothing a landlord needs to approve, and when you move, it moves with you. It’s one of the most renter-friendly ways to seriously filter drinking water.
Less than you’d think. The 14L model has a 29 × 29 cm footprint, roughly the space of a kettle and toaster side by side, and stands 60 cm tall. The 16L is 32 × 32 × 60 cm and the 22L is 32 × 30 × 64 cm.
You fill the top tank from above, so allow a little extra clearance if you’re placing it under overhead cupboards. Many customers position it at the end of the bench or on a side table for easy access.
| Stage | Media | Replacement Frequency |
|---|---|---|
| Stage 1 (top) | Ceramic dome | 8–10 months (cleanable monthly) |
| Stage 2 (middle) | KDF cartridge | 4–6 months |
| Stage 3 (bottom) | Mineral stones | 8–10 months |
Frequency depends on usage and water quality. If you notice a change in taste, it’s time to replace. Order replacement cartridges: holyh2o.com.au/products/cartridges
The ceramic top filter can be cleaned monthly under cool running water with a soft brush or scouring pad. Full setup guide: youtu.be/YEYtMDjLQLY
Yes. HolyH₂O offers a lifetime replacement guarantee across all our filters, including the Trinity Water Filter, Tap Mate, Shower Mate, Shower Max, and Bath Mate, as long as you have an active cartridge subscription via our Subscribe & Save plan. If your filter stops working under normal use, we’ll replace it for free. Misuse or neglect will void the guarantee.
The Tap Mate is an inline tap water filter with a durable 304 stainless steel housing. It attaches directly to your kitchen tap with no plumbing or tools required, and fits around 95% of standard Australian taps. The cartridge is replaced roughly every 3 months, depending on usage and water quality.
It’s the simplest way to filter the water you cook and rinse with. View the range →
They do different jobs. The Tap Mate filters water straight from your tap, which makes it ideal for cooking, rinsing produce, filling pots, and general kitchen use. The Trinity is a dedicated multi-stage drinking water system with deeper filtration, including fluoride reduction.
Many households run both: Tap Mate at the sink for everything, Trinity on the bench for drinking water. If you’re only choosing one and drinking water is the priority, start with the Trinity.
Yes. The Shower Mate, Shower Max, and Bath Mate all use catalytic carbon filtration, the correct media type for Australian chloramine-treated water. Standard KDF or regular activated carbon filters (common in US-market shower filters) will not adequately remove chloramine.
All HolyH₂O shower filters fit standard Australian shower arms with no tools required. They are particularly popular with families and anyone with sensitive or eczema-prone skin.
Both use the same catalytic carbon filtration media and remove the same contaminants. The difference is form factor:
Both fit standard Australian shower arms and require no tools to install.
Our shower filters are designed to maintain normal water pressure in everyday use. If you notice a drop in pressure over time, that’s usually the cartridge telling you it’s due for replacement rather than a limitation of the filter itself, and a fresh cartridge restores full flow.
No, and we’d rather tell you that upfront than have you buy it for the wrong job. The Shower Mate range reduces chlorine and chloramine. It is not a water softener and won’t change water hardness or remove scale minerals like calcium and magnesium. If hard water is your main concern, a filter isn’t the right tool.
Replacement frequency depends on your water quality and how many people are showering daily. As a general guide:
If you notice a reduction in water pressure or a return of chlorine odour, it’s time to replace sooner. Order replacement cartridges: holyh2o.com.au/products/shower-cartridges
Yes. The Bath Mate fits straight faucets directly and comes with a velcro strap to secure it on curved faucets. No tools or plumbing required. If you’re unsure about compatibility, contact us before ordering.
The Hydronizer uses SPE/PEM (Solid Polymer Electrolyte / Proton Exchange Membrane) electrolysis. Fill the bottle with water, press the button, and a platinum-coated titanium membrane dissolves molecular hydrogen gas (H₂) directly into the water. Oxygen and any byproducts are vented out through a separate exhaust chamber, not into your drinking water.
Simply fill, press, wait for the cycle to complete, and drink. No filter changes needed. Drink within 30 minutes for maximum hydrogen concentration. Watch: youtube.com/shorts/WPNyDaR5kxU
Hydrogen water is simply regular drinking water with molecular hydrogen gas dissolved into it. The gas is tasteless, odourless, and non-toxic, and any excess naturally escapes from the water over time. It’s still just water.
The Hydronizer’s SPE/PEM design vents oxygen and byproducts through a separate exhaust chamber rather than into your drink. For the research behind hydrogen water, see our science page, which cites the original peer-reviewed studies.
They are fundamentally different technologies. An alkaline water ioniser (like Kangen) uses basic electrolysis to raise water pH, splitting water into an alkaline stream and an acidic waste stream. The goal is higher pH.
A SPE/PEM hydrogen water bottle like the Hydronizer uses a proton exchange membrane to dissolve pure molecular hydrogen gas (H₂) into water without significantly altering pH. The goal is dissolved H₂ concentration.
The HolyH₂O Hydronizer is not an alkaline ioniser. It does not raise pH as its primary function. The two products are commonly confused but are distinct in technology, mechanism, and outcome.
Rule of thumb: personal daily use, start with the Classic or 2.0. Training and outdoors, Tough Titan. Maximum concentration, Infinity. Whole family, the Pitcher.
| Model | H₂ Concentration | Capacity | Cycle | Battery |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Classic | 1.4–1.8 PPM | 450 mL | 3 min | 1200 mAh, Type-C |
| Hydronizer 2.0 | 3–5 PPM | 450 mL (glass) | 5 min | 1500 mAh, Type-C |
| Tough Titan | 2.4 PPM | 1.5 L (Tritan) | See product page | Type-C |
| Infinity | Up to 10 PPM | N/A | 5 or 10 min | Type-C (5V-1A) |
| 2L Pitcher | 1.8–2.4 PPM | 2 L (glass) | N/A | 350W |
All models use 100% titanium electrode plates with 100% pure platinum coating and a PEM proton exchange membrane. Glass models use high boron double-glazed glass. The Infinity and Tough Titan use food-grade Tritan® (BPA/BPS/EA/AA-free).
The Tough Titan is our 1.5L hydrogen water generator built for athletes and outdoor use. It uses the same SPE/PEM electrolysis technology as the rest of the Hydronizer range, producing 2.4 PPM hydrogen-rich water in a durable, food-grade Tritan body (BPA/BPS/EA/AA-free) that’s made to be knocked around in a gym bag or on the trail.
Not to be confused with the Titan Gym Bag, which is our magnetic gym accessory bag. The Tough Titan makes hydrogen water; the Titan Gym Bag holds your gear.
No, and this is worth being clear about: the Hydronizer adds molecular hydrogen to water, it doesn’t remove contaminants. For best results, use filtered water, for example from your Trinity Water Filter. The two products do different jobs and pair well together: filter first, hydrogenate second.
Like regular water. Molecular hydrogen is tasteless and odourless, so there’s no flavour change. Some people describe hydrogen water as slightly smoother or crisper, and you’ll see fine bubbles during and after a cycle, but if you’re expecting it to taste different, it won’t. It tastes like whatever water you put in.
No, water only. Juice, tea, cordial, electrolyte mixes, and other drinks can damage the PEM membrane. If you want flavour, hydrogenate plain water first, then add it to your drink in a separate glass or bottle.
No. The Hydronizer is fully reusable and rechargeable, no filter changes needed. Clean with mild soap and warm water. In hard water areas, descale monthly with a 1:1 water-and-vinegar solution, leave for an hour, then rinse thoroughly. Let the unit air-dry when not in use. Avoid submerging the base, dishwashers, and metal brushes.
On a full charge you can expect approximately 10 refills (around 2 days of continuous use, model dependent).
The Hydronizer works with tap water, filtered water, reverse osmosis, natural spring water, purified water, well water, and distilled water. Use ambient, cold, or iced water only. Do not use boiling water as it can damage the PEM membrane.
Water with very low mineral content (such as distilled water) may produce less visible bubbling. To improve performance, add a small pinch of natural sea salt or a small amount of mineral-rich water.
If bubbles stop, soak the PEM unit in warm water for 2–3 hours to rehydrate the membrane.

It uses our Oralbiome™ formula, combining two clinically studied probiotic strains (BLIS K12™ and BLIS M-18™) with nano-atomization technology, to kill 99.9% of bad bacteria and restore balance to the oral microbiome.
Unlike gum or single-use sprays, Cool+ is reusable and refillable. One Flavour Pod™ lasts approximately 150 sprays (around 30 days). Simply spray for 3 seconds and freshness lasts up to 6 hours. No sugar, no alcohol, no chemicals. Recommended by dental hygienists and FDA approved.
Gum and regular sprays mask odour temporarily. Cool+ takes a different approach: the Oralbiome™ formula with BLIS K12™ and BLIS M-18™ probiotic strains targets the bad bacteria that cause odour, with freshness lasting up to 6 hours from a 3-second spray.
It’s also reusable: you swap Flavour Pods instead of binning empty bottles or going through packs of gum, which works out better value and less waste over time.
Cool+ is available in 8 flavours: Mint, Watermelon, Blueberry, Peach, Mango, Grape, Mojito, and Taro. You can purchase a single flavour or bundle multiple flavours together.
Each Flavour Pod™ delivers approximately 150 sprays, which works out to roughly 30 days of daily use. The Cool+ device itself is reusable, just swap in a new pod when yours runs out. No usage limits per day.
Yes. Cool+ contains 100% natural plant-based extracts. No sugar, no alcohol, no artificial dyes, and no chemicals. It is compatible with keto, vegan, and paleo diets. It is also FDA approved and recommended by dental hygienists.
The Titan Gym Bag is a magnetic gym accessory bag designed to keep your essentials (phone, keys, wallet, and water bottle) clean, secure, and within reach during your workout. It attaches magnetically to any steel gym equipment (racks, cables, machines), so your gear is never on the floor again.
It features lockable zippers, a built-in phone pouch for hands-free viewing, multiple carrying options, and premium sweat- and water-resistant materials. As seen in Muscle & Fitness, Women’s Health, and Iron Man magazine.
The Titan Bag uses powerful built-in magnets that attach directly to any steel surface: squat racks, cable machines, benches, and most commercial gym equipment. The hold is strong enough to keep the bag secure with a full water bottle and everyday essentials inside.
It also comes with multiple carrying options so you can wear it crossbody or on your belt when moving between stations. No gym floor. No hooks required.
The Titan Bag holds up to 5 kg, comfortably covering a phone, keys, wallet, water bottle, and small accessories like straps or chalk.
One honest limitation: it’s not designed for wet towels or shoes. The sweat- and water-resistant materials protect against splashes and gym conditions, not soaked gear. Keep it for your essentials and it’ll serve you for years.
Yes, the Titan Bag is designed to hold a water bottle alongside your other gym essentials. It pairs perfectly with the Hydronizer Classic and Hydronizer 2.0 (450 mL) for a complete gym hydration setup. If you’re unsure about fit with a larger model, contact us before ordering.
